After yesterday's jaunt, it's a full day today. I gave The Stage a second coat of varnish, the window a third coat of gloss, hung another three lengths of paper and painted the door frame. Then I knocked up a little door to cover the end of The Stage. Not big jobs, but they all took time.
The next thing was to start filling the holes in the walls.

I used expanding foam filler. This stuff is great for plugging all manner of gaps, cavities and holes. It sets hard in a few hours, and then can be cut and sanded back. But take care! You must wear gloves (latex or rubber), as this stuff can burn your skin and it sticks like the proverbial to a blanket - it will not wash off, it remains on your skin until you shed that layer of skin. Wear old clothes - it will not wash out. To be on the safe side, wear a face mask, as it also gives off nasty vapours, and ventilate the room well. Seriously, be careful and use common sense.

I'll leave it overnight to cure, then cut it back.
I've also painted one wall - but pictures will follow when it's dry (so that it doesn't look blotchy).
Then I went downstairs and made this : -
Bacon, egg, lamb chop, Cumberland sausage, black pudding, potato cake, fried bread, beans and onion rings. In England, this is what we call breakfast. We also eat it at any time of the day. It is the world's best meal. Bar none.
Oh my goodness Dad, that is mean - I am starving!!!! The room is looking good (but the food looks better!!!) xcx
ReplyDeleteOh minus the beans of course!!!! xcx
